Abby was abandoned at a local vet clinic, left right on the counter with nothing but her cat carrier and a note, which read:
“Please find me a good home.My name is Abby.I am 9 years old.My owner can’t take care of me anymore because of serious health problems.I am sweet, kind, and loving.I love to be held and be close to people.I have been very, very well taken care of.Abby is an inside cat only – she has never been outside. She would be a wonderful companion for someone older like my friend was.Three weeks ago I was next door at the cat groomer. If you call there they will remember Abby and will tell you that she is the sweetest and best cat they have ever groomed.I do this regretfully, for her owner is broken hearted.”
: (Poor Abby.So now we need a wonderful person to offer her their home for the rest of her life!We can tell you that she is every bit the sweetheart as claimed in the note. She loves to be held and does a lot of purring. She really does want to be close to you all the time. She is a big lapcat and is very helpful – as her bio was being typed, she was lounging on top of the desk helping - right next to her abandonment letter (see picture). She is a quiet and polite cat, and she loves to sleep in bed with her foster parents – she even sleeps under the covers if they let her!And she even gets all kitty-frisky once in awhile – running around like she was a youngster! She is very wonderful and her story is truly heartbreaking, but we are determined to make it a happy ending for this darling girl. She seems like she could be happy in any home that gives her lots of love and attention!
Abby has most likely been an only pet all of her life. She was in foster with another cat and it did not go well.In fact, we had to move the other cat out because she did not tolerate it at all.So a home with no other cats will be the only choice for this girl! She is in foster with children and she loves them and does very well with them - she is very patient and accepting of their petting! She has not been exposed to dogs yet so we are not sure how she would do with them.
Abby also has a noted heart murmur. The vet said there is no way to know the cause of it - it could be genetic or a disturbance in blood flow, etc... She is perfectly healthy right now and not showing any signs of heart disease or secondary problems. There is really no way of knowing if it will ever advance or if she will stay at the same reading for the rest of her life. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
