Hi, my name is Tootsie and for those of you who have been following, I have some VERY exciting news!
I am in a new foster home and I am so happy (as you can see by my picture) I can't even begin to tell you! My first day was a lot to take in at first, but all in all it went very well. When my foster picked me up, I jumped right in the back seat of the car with some groceries and didn't even think to look in those bags. I just sprawled out and enjoyed the ride.
When we arrived home, we went for a little walk to get me to relax before I met my new "roommate" and the tour of the house I am staying. I am amazed at how big this place is and how big the yard is. Anything is bigger than a kennel though. I immediately jumped up on the bed and stretched out; you have no idea how good that felt after sleeping on concrete for so long! I seriously didn't want to leave that room, or the bed. How could it get any better than this? Well, let me tell you how.
I then was introduced to the back yard and the Dalmatian I live with. There was a little growling at first, but nothing earth shattering, he's a VERY friendly guy who loves everything and everyone. I love the big fenced in back yard, and couldn't believe how much room I had to walk freely on my own with no leash...very exciting. I met the neighbor dogs through the fence and that was no big deal, a little sniff here and there and moved on to the next. It went well.
My foster mom had to correct me with a few things and when that happened, I accepted it, but was a little ashamed. I take my paws and put them over my eyes as to say "I can't believe I did that, I'm so embarrassed." According to my foster mom it is unbelievably adorable.
In a nutshell, I'm a great dog I just needed someone to give me a chance, and the "powers that be" have sent someone to help me with that.
Here are some attractive features about me; I'm adorable, I don't dig in the trash, I am completely house trained, I walk beautifully on a leash, I know some basic commands and learning new ones, I have a very gentle mouth (I take treats like a Princess), I do great with children, I have never shown any aggression with humans, but I will test you to see how far I can go, I'm very smart.
I haven't met the cat that lives here yet, so we'll keep you posted on that if it happens. I'm a little picky about my "dog" roommates, but I think with proper introduction anything is possible!
I'm in search of my FOREVER home, and am hoping that I will find that very soon. It's been too long of a time coming and I deserve the happiness and love of a human companion, I promise I would be a blessing in their lives.
