This handsome fella here is Pete (affectionately known to his foster family as "Riggs").

Riggs is very well house trained. He does well in a crate during the work day but will require a large one as he needs room to stretch out his legs. He often times naps on his back in his crate with his legs straight up in the air! He is fine meeting new male dogs outside the home but he needs to be the only male dog living in the household as he wants to be the dominant dog. He is wonderful with female dogs and loves to play. Behavior towards cats is unknown but from what we have seen, he does not have a strong prey drive that would make me hesitant to have him around other small animals.

Riggs grew up around young children and I don't foresee any problems in that regard. He LOVES meeting new people. He does great in the car- just lays down and chills while enjoying the ride. He has an incredibly easygoing, affable personality and will get vocal when he wants or needs something. Riggs loves to just be BY you. He enjoys walks, hanging out with you on the couch, TREATS, laying by the bathroom door when you take showers, going to watch kid's sporting events, and sleeping at the end of the bed at night to keep your feet warm.

Riggs came to Happy Tails in October of 2016 needing surgery on his knees for luxating patellas and a torn ACL. His last surgery was in June of 2017 and he has healed beautifully with no further medical care needed. His energy level is low to medium. He enjoys walking 1-2 miles and light play with other dogs or tug toys.

Whoever adds this boy to their family is going to be extremely lucky. We love Riggs very much and it has been an absolute joy to have him with us and watch his progress

Prior to adoption Pete will be neutered, vaccinated, health checked, and microchipped

More about Pete

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

The breeds of our dogs and cats are a "best guess." We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a "full grown size" of many of our younger animals.
