Hi! My name is Buster and I am a 5 year old male labradoodle and I weigh around 55lbs. I am a happy and goofy guy that loves treats and bones and stretching my long legs outside on walks. I love a good day outside with my people. Because I am a poodle mix I require regular brushing and will need appointments with a groomer! Also the poodle in me likes to be vocal sometimes so please no shared walls. 

I have not had an accident in the house and I am fine in or out of a crate. I have the basic commands and tricks down and listen very well.

I ended up in rescue as I have a strong desire to guard my person of choosing from other dogs and people. Due to this I do need an owner that can set firm rules and boundaries for me. I need to understand that I am not in charge. 

I am being fostered with kids, cats, and dogs- however we do believe that I would do best in a home with none of the above. I believe this will help set me up for success. I am a very sweet and loyal guy that has spent the last 5 years being the protector of my person and am being forced into retirement so I can just enjoy being a dog and not have not worry about a job. 

****Buster will require continued training with our partner training company YDBF, so he will need a local adopter who is able to travel to Fridley for training sessions. This way we can personally watch his progress closely and make sure he does not continue to have guarding behavior issues that he had in his previous home. We want to make sure his adopters continue the success he has had in his foster home****

Prior to adoption I will be altered, vaccinated, health checked, dewormed, and micro-chipped.

Happy Tails Adoption Center is open on Sundays from 12-5pm. We are located at 7940 University Ave NE, Fridley. Dogs are at events based on the availability of their foster family. Please fill out a pre-adoption application so we know you are interested in meeting/adopting one of our animals.

The breeds of our dogs and cats are a "best guess." We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a "full grown size" of many of our younger animals.

Happy Tails Rescue Minnesota is located at 7331 Baker St NE, Fridley MN 55432. We are open for adoption events from 12-5 every Sunday. If there is a certain animal you want to meet at one the events please fill out a preadoption application to directly contact their foster family or check our Facebook page to see if they will be there! Their event attendance is based on the availability of their foster family.

All of our cats and dogs are INDOOR pets and are NOT to be left outside unattended (even in a fenced yard), or running loose!
