Peter
Peter

Peter has been a dream come true. Very well mannered. Hard to tell he’s a cat. I guess he does lie around a lot…. I know he wouldn't be around if you didn’t help rescue him. Thx for that. Austin (posted 1/2/09)

Peach
Peach

Hello to everyone at Happy Tails! Peach & Herb are doing great since we adopted them in July ('08). They are about 7 months old now and are still having a blast together. We love having them as a part of our family and they keep us busy since they are still frisky kittens. They snuggle together all day and wrestle together and chase each other all night! We love their unique personalities – Herb is a shy, loving guy that loves sleeping bundled under the covers. He meows for Peach if he can’t see where she is and doesn’t like being without her. Peach is an adventurous little lady with a spunky attitude. She explores anything new, loves people and purrs like a motorboat. We are so happy they came to our home together, since they really make a great duo and love each other so much. The only trouble we have is keeping up with them! Thanks to everyone who helped care for them during their time at Happy Tails, especially their awesome foster moms Michelle and Colleen in St. Paul. Thanks again. Kasey (posted 1/2/09)

Poppy
Poppy

I just wanted to give you a quick update on the girls. They are both doing well. 3 weeks ago at their vet appt Poppy weighed 4.5 pounds & Spice was up to 5.5 pounds. They go this week to get their first rabies shot. Poppy was so quiet, but she has learned to bark. Spice does most of the talking for sure. We have been having lots of fun with them. They love the back yard, but I am always pulling grasshoppers & frogs out of their mouths. Poppy rarely has potty accidents in the house, but Spice feels free to pee just about anywhere still. Spice always goes to the door & barks to go out to do number two. They love our cat, but he still is not very interested in them. We have been so happy with these little girls and so glad to have them in our family. The Brenne's (9/6/08)

Pepper
Pepper

Hello Happy Tails Rescue! Thank you for the most wonderful dog! We got Pepper around July 1st, 2008, just after his operation. My son, Clay, has renamed him “Kobe” as in Kobe Bryant the basketball player. And believe it or not Kobe loves basketballs! Because of his canine limitations, rather than dribbling the ball he bites it and pushes it with his nose. Since we have had Kobe he has grown a ton. His leg is healing wonderfully. I walk him every night to Weaver Lake Park. Well……lets rephrase that. He runs me every night to the Park. Kobe tries to say hello to every kid and dog he sees. He loves both. He also gets to take a swim in the lake to cool off. He has gotten to a point where he knows how to get there without me leading. Pretty smart little man. I am also teaching him to stop and sit at street crossings! No more of this getting hit by cars under my watch! Goofy dog. We also got invisible fencing put in so Kobe is free to run around the yard. It took one big zap, and two little zaps in two days and that was it. No more leaving the yard for him. He even waits for me to pick him up and carry him across the street when we go for our walk. He loves to sit in the front yard and watch all the people, kids and dogs go by (a lot of activity with people going to the park). And he seems to have no interest in cars. Whew! Kobe has great cousins. We try to bring him over to my sister Pam’s once a week to play with Ruby and Rex (yellow labs). Rex is this HUGE 100+ pound lab and is so gentle with Kobe it is so touching to watch. And Ruby tries to share all her toys with Kobe. The three of them are going to be great friends. Now a bit about Kobe’s brother, Ollie (the black cat). Well…. I don’t think Ollie hates Kobe. I think he is just sick of trying to get his head out of Kobe’s mouth. And I think Kobe is finally learning that Ollie’s idea of playing is not by way of mouth. I’ve caught them batting at each other and chasing each other a few times. So all is good. I am sure once Kobe matures I’ll find them napping together on Clay’s bed. Kobe’s oldest brother, Blake is not around much (he is 16 and driving and working now) but he is great with Kobe. Clay, is Kobe’s best friend. I am so proud of how good of care Clay is taking of Kobe. They sleep together every night. He feeds him, runs him, trains him and even picks up Kobe’s poop when I ask!!! I only have one question. Who the heck was feeding him popcorn? Kobe goes CRAZY when I make popcorn and it is the only thing he barks and begs for... Mary and family

Pirate
Pirate

Hi Happy Tails Rescue, wanted to update you on how our new family member Pirate is doing! Pirate has 2 brothers, Sammy and Sox. Pirate gets along the best with Sox, and is always scampering around with him! They also LOVE to Snuggle with each other after a long mutual cat bath! Pirate is a talker! Each morning we know when he’s hungry! He gets a little wet food at night before bedtime and that has quickly become his favorite time of day. He’s not much for being picked up, but he IS a cuddler. When he rubs that sweet little kitty cat face against mine my heart still melts, and we love him to death. He is the perfect addition to our family. THANK YOU Happy Tails for all you Do! Carrie (posted 5/9/08) Hi Happy Tails! Wanted to give you another update on Pirate! He went back to the vet last week and his eye is doing better, his tear production in his 'pirate eye' has increased, and they've given him some ointment instead of eye drops. The vet is confident he should steadily do better with time. We are so proud of our boy!! :) (updated 8/5/08) here are some recent pictures of our happy kitty. thanks happy tails!! :)
